Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for posting various accounting transactions, such as invoices, payments, and expenses The Bookkeeper works closely with the Controller. The company works primarily on public works jobs.
Experience preferred but willing to train right person. Pay is $20 to $30 per hour depending on experience.
Hours are flexible. Currently not a remote job but may be in the future.
Responsibilities
● Payroll: Gather timecards from employees, enter into Sage Construction software. Ensure payroll is allocated to correct jobs.
Company is a signatory to the Carpenters Union.
● Account Receivables - Assist with collections and compliance documentation.
● Accounts Payable - Enter Purchase Orders, track materials and allocate to expenses to contracts.
● Compliance documents for Contracts and Public Works Payroll
● Other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills
● Have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles,
● Ability to pay attention to details, especially numerical data, records and transactions to ensure accuracy and precision in all financial entries and calculations.
● Possess strong organizational skills and be able to manage and maintain financial records, and files in a systematic and accessible manner.
● Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities in a timely manner.
● Proficient use of bookkeeping software, and the ability to use these tools to record and manage financial transactions.
● Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and is able to interact with colleagues, vendors, and clients, as needed.
● Able to present information clearly and produce accurate reports.
● Maintain high ethical standards.
● Ability to learn and adapt to changing technologies.
Experience
● Education-a High School diploma or equivalent.
● Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
● 3 years of experience in bookkeeping
● Proficiency in Bookkeeping software. Will train in our software (Sage).
● Experience in maintaining accurate financial records, and organizing financial documentation.
● Public Works payroll experience a plus. Will train right person.
