Senior Bookkeeper

Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to manage the complex financial record-keeping of our organization. This role involves recording transactions, maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and preparing financial reports. Additionally, the Senior Bookkeeper will supervise and train bookkeeping staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Transaction Recording: Accurately record all financial transactions, including journal entries, purchase orders, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank statements.

Record Maintenance: Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness at the end of each day, month, and year.

Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, while identifying opportunities for cost reduction.

Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and accounts, promptly addressing any discrepancies or errors to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Audit Assistance: Collaborate with accountants to prepare for audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Staff Supervision: Oversee the work of assistant bookkeepers, providing guidance, support, and ensuring adherence to best practices in bookkeeping.

Training: Train new hires on bookkeeping procedures, policies, and the use of financial software systems.

Software Implementation: Implement and maintain financial software systems to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with a strong understanding of financial record-keeping and reporting.

Leadership Skills: Experience supervising and training staff, with the ability to provide clear guidance and support.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and effectively.

Project Management: Strong project management and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
