Ojai Roots is a local farm opening up a farmshop summer of 2024 and serving wines and light snacks in a wine garden in downtown Ojai.
Hours: Looking for part time and full time positions.
10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Thursday-Sunday, Opening Position
3:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Thursday-Sunday, Closing Position
Position Summary: We are seeking a guest-focused Shop Counter Associate to join our team. This position will assist with daily shop operations including retail sales, customer service, pouring wines by the glass, bussing and serving light snacks. This role is vital to ensuring that our customers receive excellent service and that the shop runs smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Retail and Customer Service
- Assist customers with purchasing retail items including: grab-and-go food, juices, beverages, home goods, and pantry items
- Handle POS sales transactions and operate the cash register
- Maintain a clean and organized retail space, including restocking shelves and inventory management
Wine Bar Service
- Pour wine by the glass
- Product knowledge
- Portion and serve light snacks
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor dining patio
- Provide excellent hospitality and service to guests seated on the patio
General Duties:
- Clean and maintain all service ware, including glasses, cutlery, and plateware
- Polish glasses and cutlery as needed
- Perform daily cleaning tasks to keep the shop and wine bar tidy and inviting
- Assist with inventory management and ensure all products are properly accounted for
- Willingness to assist with additional Ojai Roots activities, such as events and private dinners
- Opening and closing duties include cleaning and restocking
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or hospitality preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Knowledge of wine and food service is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
