Ojai Rôtie is seeking an experienced chef for catering and events. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience leading a kitchen team in preparing and executing onsite and offsite events. We are looking for a team player who is highly communicative, organized, and detail-oriented.
Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare and cook a variety of dishes for events, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts
-Collaborate with Catering Director and clients to design menus that meet their needs and preferences
-Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards while embodying the Ojai Rôtie energy and aesthetic
-Manage catering inventory, including ordering and organizing supplies
-Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations
-Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed
We are looking for folks with:
-Proven experience as a chef, preferably in a catering or event setting
-Strong culinary skills with a keen eye for presentation
-Ability to think outside the box
-Excellent time management and organizational skills
-Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
-Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
-A friendly, positive attitude and strong ability to work as a part of a team
-Professional demeanor and appearance
-An appreciation for delicious food and beverages
-Must be reliable and punctual
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
-Must be able to stand, walk, and carry for extended periods
-Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish)
