The General Manager of Mountain View Inn & Restaurant is chiefly responsible for the front of the house of the restaurant as well as the Inn operation and its 9 rooms. A successful manager of a small hospitality operation will need to possess the skills and drive to manage subordinates while actively fulfilling one of the FOH rolls in the trenches of the day-to-day.
With plans to offer dinner service Thursday – Saturday & brunch Saturday + Sunday, the General Manager should expect long hours on their feet Thursday – Sunday with Monday – Wednesday being flexible off/partial days. Outside of the day-to-day restaurant operation, key responsibilities will include hiring staff as needed, the wellbeing of the physical property by delegating tasks to maintenance & housekeeping staff and cost control.
The ideal candidate will have experience in hospitality, reading financial statements and possess the leadership skills to instill a sense of pride in staff while taking ownership of the operation to eventually run the business autonomously.
