Join Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue as a Foster and Help Save Lives!
Ace of Hearts, a Non-Profit Dog Rescue based in Los Angeles, is dedicated to saving dogs from high-kill shelters and giving them a new chance at life. We urgently need experienced fosters who are comfortable with large dogs to provide temporary homes for our rescues while we work on finding them their forever families.
As a foster, you'll play a crucial role in helping these dogs feel secure, comfortable, and loved during their transition from shelter life. Whether they're shy and traumatized or confident and affectionate, your care will make a world of difference. The joy of seeing a fearful dog gain trust or receiving unconditional love from a confident dog is incredibly rewarding.
What We Provide:
All necessary supplies: bed, food, treats, toys, and vet care.
Support and guidance throughout the fostering process.
What We Need From You:
- You must be 21+ (or have parental approval if under 21).
- Be able to foster until the dog is adopted, or at least 2-4 weeks. If you can't commit that long, we also need short-term fosters for emergencies!
- Reliable transportation to bring your foster dog to our adoption event in West Hollywood every other Saturday (THIS IS A REQUIREMENT) and to vet appointments as needed.
- Comfort with large breeds (50-90 pounds). Please do not apply if you can only foster small dogs.
- No children under 10, no cats, and no small dogs in your home. Other large dogs are okay.
- Ability to start fostering immediately.
- Approval from all landlords, managers, spouses, etc. before applying.
- Include your phone number and email in your application (WE WILL NOT RESPOND WITHOUT THIS INFORMATION).
URGENT FOSTER NEEDS:
Blankets and Jack Jack - A bonded pair of American Bulldogs rescued from a high-kill shelter. They are still adjusting to home life and need a foster who understands that they require patience and work. Their bond is heartwarming, and while it would be ideal to keep them together, we can consider fostering them separately if needed, but a foster home is needed ASAP.
Ash and Blue - A bonded pair of Yorkie mixes who need a new foster by 8/31. Though timid and nippy at first, they become playful and affectionate once they trust you. Ash and Blue are inseparable, and with patience, they will be loyal and loving companions.
Cooper - A 5-year-old American Bulldog who is great with other dogs and adores people, especially men. Currently in a high-kill shelter, Cooper isn't handling the desert heat well and urgently needs a foster by 8/30. He is gentle, sweet, and ready to soak up all the love you have to offer.
