Tax Assistants provide support to an organization’s tax or accounting department.
Their role is acombination of administrative assistance and accounting support.
They must be able to performfunctions, such as processing tax returns and maintaining databases.
Tax Assistants workunder the supervision of a Tax Manager or supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Prepare sales & use tax returns on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Prepare month-end reconciliations relating to sales and use tax accounts
Prepare local tax returns on a monthly and annual basic (personal property tax, bottle deposit, parking tax, soft drink tax, etc.)
Visit stores and monitor sales of items to insure compliance with the Company policy and procedures related to the sales and other related taxes
Assist with audits related to indirect government tax audits, including audit defense of tax positions taken and negotiating, settling, or protesting audits as necessary
assist in annual corporate tax return preparation by a third party accounting firm
Track fixed assets and other capital spendingfor personal property tax returns
Assist in tax related compliance filings & registrations for new stores/entities
Conduct related research, planning, and contract reviews
Other special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Bachelor in Accounting or Finance
Bilingual (Korean and English) is a Must
Asian-American supermarket experience preferred
Handling sensitive and confidential information properly
Knowledge in SAP preferred
