Assistant Dog Trainer/Personal Assistant

Dog boarding and training company seeking a unique, energetic and highly responsible person to assist business owner and head trainer with the basics in our training program as well as odd ball and admin tasks needed throughout the day. Because this is a new position within the company, there is some wiggle room in what the role will ultimately turn into as well as what a monthly schedule would look like.

Our ideal candidate has:

1.) Some experience maintaining calm, confident energy with dogs and skilled at providing boundaries to overly excited/anxious dogs (we know there are a million enthusiastic dog lovers out there, but we want to see you're able to provide consistency and structure with dogs with behavioral issues. We will train with specific skills and technique, but your calm and consistent energy with dogs is the base of them relating and building trust, safety and respect with/for you).

2.) Has excellent client communication skills and can demonstrate that over text, via phone and in person.

3.) Able to work outside in all weather conditions in Colorado.

4.) Has reliable transportation and is extremely punctual (we rely on you to let dogs out first thing in the morning to go to the bathroom, hence being on time is a must).

5.) Schedule may vary slightly from week to week depending on trainings but can be:

5 consecutive days 7-11am or 9-noon

3 consecutive afternoons 2-5pm or 3-6pm

You can choose which 5 consecutive days Monday-Sunday work best for you.

Role duties may include:

1.) Developing fully into an Assistant Trainer position

2.) Cleaning dog areas and maintaining the play/training yards

3.) Some admin work such as scheduling, booking, client communication, etc.

4.) Possibly creating and editing training videos for clients

5.) Possibly dog/house sitting while owner is away

If you feel you have always been drawn to work with dogs and help dogs and humans reach a better place of harmony, we'd love to hear from you. While previous experience working and/or training dogs is a definite plus, we are willing to train up the right candidate.

If interested, please send a CV and resume outlining:

-Why you believe you're a good fit for the job

-Any background/experience working with or training dogs (please be specific with how you helped the dog/family and what kind of training methods you employed)

-Which 5 days of the week work best for you

Perks:

Make a life long positive impact in the lives of dogs and their families

Learn dog psychology and educate owners

Build a sense of trust, safety and respect with many dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes and personalities

Receive a deep sense of gratitude for the clients we work with

Wear many hats, make the role your own and never be bored :)

Compensation is $20-$25/hr, or $26, 880- $46,800/annually depending on experience and desired work schedule. Please know a background check and references will be checked prior to starting. Thanks and have a great day!
