Food Lab is looking for a Part Time Chef Instructor. Chef Instructors at Food Lab are at the helm of each of our classes, teaching techniques, walking students through recipes, and inspiring the students to be heroes in their own kitchens. You will work with a kitchen assistant/s during each class to help students make delicious food from our Food Lab menus/curriculum. Our menus touch on cuisines and techniques from across the globe. Our team is engaging, energetic, and reliable; great to work with and we are looking to find more of the same!

Food Lab is known for creating a fun and festive environment around food and cooking, from 4 year olds to 90 year olds. We are a continually growing recreational cooking school based in Boulder that offers its employees a fun and unique job in a great environment.
Compensation:
$21 per hour base pay plus tips (tips increase the payrate to approximately $26/hour)
Responsibilities:
Class setup including prep and mise en place for students
Leading a class through techniques and recipes, showing them how to and empowering them to make delectable food at Food Lab and at home
Answering questions about techniques, recipes, ingredients and cuisines for our curious students
Class cleanup and resetting for following class
Possibility of some recipe testing and development
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years professional kitchen experience, sous chef level or higher preferred
Culinary school degree or equivalent on the job training
Excellent teaching and communication skills
Ability to manage and engage classes large and small
Ability to work quickly and efficiently
Great people skills, with guests and our diverse staff
Reliability
Ability to work independently and with other team members
Must be 18 years or older for beverage service
The Location: Food Lab is based on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado.
We love our downtown location, as it is near other restaurants and coffee shops, easy parking and right on the bus line!
