We are looking for an experienced bar, coffee shop, or restaurant manager for the Tune Up, located within the Full Cycle Bike Shop, on downtown Boulder's historic East Pearl Street. Voted Best New Business of 2018 by Boulder Weekly, and having received national acclaim, The Tune Up is an espresso bar, and a full service taproom with 16 taps serving specialty craft beer and wine. In addition, we serve lighter pre-prepared snacks, with plans to expand the menu in 2019. The Tune Up is open from 7am to 9pm most days of the week, and is currently staffed with one or two bar tenders/baristas at all times.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring a consistent and positive experience for all café patrons, with a focus on growing clientele and increasing sales and profitability

• Hiring, supervision, and scheduling of all café staff

• Maintaining café operations manual, and ensuring all café staff are following the procedures at all times, leading by example

• Managing within labor, beverage, food, and other expenses as budgeted at start of the year

• Cost effective beverage and food buying, under the direction of the Owner/General Manager

• Overseeing logistics around all café events, including negotiation with entertainment, and support of marketing efforts

• Working closely with marketing on event planning and management of calendar

• Ensuring compliance with state and local health and beverage code laws, including health department rules for cleanliness, food, chemical, and alcohol storage, and alcohol training and compliance

• Providing weekly/monthly report of sales figures from point of sale system to accounting

• At least half time working behind the bar

Outstanding people skills, honestly, dependability, an open mind, and passion for all things bikes/beer/coffee, are prerequisites for the position. Other responsibilities include dialing in and serving drip coffee and espresso beverages, being up to date and knowledgeable about the products, standing for your shift, and working together in a small team and helping out as needed.

The ideal candidate has restaurant management experience, and is both a barista and a cyclist.

Full Cycle Bikes started in 1982 as a Co-Op in the back of a grocery store on Pearl Street. We moved up to The Hill in 1985 and have been there ever since. We opened our Pearl street shop in 2006. We pride ourselves on having the most knowledgeable and caring staff in town. The Tune Up opened in 2017.
