Our food production and warehouse company is looking for an experienced and dedicated handy maintenance person to join our team, and to grow with our company as we expand. We’re looking for someone who is efficient with their time, organized, great at being self-directed and checking things off their list, and likes helping others. This is a part-time position with lots of flexibility on where and when you work and you get to make your own schedule. Must have own vehicle and we reimburse for mileage. 50 - 150 miles per month on average.
The position would be for 5-10 hours per week of handyman-type services, depending on what is going on that week. You could decide to come in just one day a week, or fit it in when you have the time each week.
Here is an example of some of the items you’d be doing:
Plumbing
Troubleshooting kitchen equipment (calibrating ovens, range pilots, etc)
Repairing FRP, doors, drywall, baseboards, ceiling tiles
Attaching and securing equipment
Breaking down metro racks, Setting up metro racks
Replacing light bulbs in warehouses and equipment
Repairing stainless steel prep tables
Greasing oven rack wheels
HVAC or Refrigeration (walk-ins) knowledge a huge plus!
Coordinating with the General Manager about advanced plumbing, electrical, or HVAC work that should be scheduled to a contractor
Preferred Qualifications –
-Minimum 3 years experience in contracting, handyman-work, specific trades, or perhaps you’re just really handy and know your way around tools, that could work too!
-Must be a go-getter and happy to research a bit to find a fix that will work.
-Self-directed, internally motivated, organized, and detail oriented
-Excellent verbal communication
-High School Diploma or equivalency certificate required. College degree preferred, but not required.
-Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
-Average or strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Apps, property management-related software, email, internet).
-Available to work occasional weekend and evening hours as kitchen needs arise (perhaps in a building emergencies, etc).
-Ability to lift 50+ lbs to restock occasionally, stand for long periods of time, and climb stairs and ladders.
Compensation and Benefits: Compensation commensurate with experience, ranging from $30-$40/hour. Annual bonuses.
