Job Summary/Duties:
The position of Sheet Metal Apprentice/Helper is a stepping stone, aiding in one of our most dynamic departments here at Black Roofing, Inc. You will be assistant to a Master Sheet Metal Craftsman who takes this skill seriously and is ready to mentor. This position requires an individual who has a passion for the art of metal craftsmanship and the understanding of deadlines for pieces due. Prior experience encouraged but eager learners welcome.
- Basic Hand Brakes knowledge
- Basic Automated Shears knowledge
- Basic Bending Brakes knowledge
- Follows All Safety Regulations
- Must pass drug tests
- Forklift Certification - to be obtained upon acceptance of the position through Black Roofing, Inc.
- Basic Mechanical Skills
Additional Skills Required:
- Basic math skills
- Basic grammar skills
- Basic handwriting skills
- Basic internet use skills
- Ability to receive constructive criticism
- Ability to follow instructions
Physical Demands:
- May need to lift objects up to 50 pounds
- Sitting for long periods of time may be required
- Standing for long periods of time may be required
- Use of ladder, OTHER MACHINES SPECIFIC TO THIS JOB LET ME KNOW WHAT THEY ARE
Position type & expected hours of work:
- Field Position; Hourly; 40 Hours per week expected.
- Must meet deadlines
- Occasional weekend work required
Required Education & Certifications:
- High School Diploma or Higher
- Valid Colorado Drivers License Required
