As a working supervisor, you will lead a team of survey and geospatial professionals while overseeing enterprise land surveying/terrestrial scanning programs, land-centric GIS programs, and the enterprise drone/UAS program. You will also apply your expertise as an individual contributor supporting day-to-day ADG operations, core unit work functions, special projects, unit budget preparations, and application-related work activities.Working as an Operations Technology Supervisor will include:
Overseeing the hiring, training, and management of surveying, geomatics, and land-centric GIS professionals
Ensuring the long-term success of the team through establishing goals and objectives, identifying team and individual priorities and needs, managing performance, delivering feedback, and identifying training and development needs to support growth
Leads the land surveying, terrestrial scanning, drone/UAS, and land-centric GIS programs of work
Individual contributors with the overseen disciplines which may include but are not limited to. (Land Surveying, plat/easement review and/or preparation, terrestrial scanning, drone/UAS data acquisition-processing, GIS data conversion)
Evaluate improved and emerging technologies for implementation into ADG workflows
Handles correspondence and acts as liaison with other surveyors and similar officials of various agencies
Maintains proper records, reports, and correspondence relative to ADG work
Facilitating problem management and resolution of complex land-related issues
Meets with and provides needs assessment for project planners, design engineers, and architects to determine levels and types of ADG support
Planning, balancing, and executing Capital and O&M budget, and reviews and approves billing and invoices
Assists with negotiating contracts for contractors and commercial services
Develops, reviews, or modifies all processes and procedures related to ADG activities
Supervises assigned staff, making hiring decisions and managing performance
Plans, schedules, and prioritizes work assignments of assigned staff to ensure appropriate utilization of resources and that timelines are met
Provides project management expertise and supervision for all survey, photogrammetry, and land-based GIS-related projects
Who You Are:
Relevant and progressively responsible experience leading, coaching, and developing others in ways that drive engagement, satisfaction, growth, and achievement of results
Proficiency in Land Surveying (boundary survey, CAD design, construction staking, exhibit creation, plat and easement review)
Technology aptitude and desire to innovate
Knowledge of utility operations and Colorado Land Surveying requirements
Relevant and progressively responsible experience with managing GIS applications, scheme design, and GIS data conversion processes
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and standards
Colorado PLS and/or Certified Federal Surveyor (CFedS)(preferred)
Project Management Certification (PMP) (desirable)
