Description Our client is a leading construction company known for its dedication to delivering quality projects on time and within budget. They are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join the team and help streamline our billing processes for a project that will last 3-4 months. Job Overview:The Billing Clerk will be responsible for accurately preparing, processing, and maintaining project billing records. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the timely and accurate invoicing of clients, managing accounts receivable, and working closely with project managers and the finance team for a multitude of projects they are completing. The ideal Billing Clerk will have experience in the construction industry, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and issue accurate and timely invoices for construction projects based on contract terms and work completed.

Review and verify contract terms, change orders, and project-related documentation to ensure correct billing.

Collaborate with project managers and finance to resolve billing discrepancies or disputes.

Monitor accounts receivable, track payments, and follow up on outstanding invoices.

Maintain detailed and organized records of all invoices, payments, and related documentation.

Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to billing, revenue, and project status.

Ensure compliance with company policies, contract terms, and industry regulations.

Respond to client inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account status.

Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing billing reports and reconciliations.

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in accounting or finance preferred. Or certificate in accounting.

1+ years of experience in billing or accounts receivable, preferably in the construction industry.

Familiarity with construction contracts, change orders, and project documentation preferred but not required.

Proficiency in using billing software Sage, accounting systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members, clients, and vendors.

Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
