The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving the DoD household goods move experience, possess a mastery of external affairs best practices, inspire involvement and investment in non-profit initiatives, and demonstrate strong creativity and superb communication skills.This is a remote opportunity.Core ResponsibilitiesMoving Industry Relations

Guide HomeSafe’s messaging and communication strategy for educating and informing the moving industry about HomeSafe’s program.

Orchestrate HomeSafe’s Service Provider Webinar to include planning, content gathering, and executing the live event.

Manage HomeSafe’s industry association memberships, including state and national organizations.

Monitor moving industry engagements, webinars, meetings, newsletters, etc. Track developments, questions, and concerns relevant to HomeSafe’s program and disseminate this information to internal stakeholders in regular reports.

Collaborate with HomeSafe’s network development and subcontracting teams on industry outreach strategy, engagement opportunities, and marketing products.

Pitch and execute service-provider-focused marketing products and campaigns for all HomeSafe platforms and purposes.

Create and maintain budget for industry engagement.

Organize HomeSafe’s Service Provider Annual Awards Ceremony.

Update and manage HomeSafe’s industry engagement calendar.

Coordinate HomeSafe’s participation at identified conferences. Arrange for the attendance of HomeSafe employees, manage conference registration, stage booth operations, procure company swag, etc.

Book conference speaking engagements and thought leadership opportunities for HomeSafe leadership. Counsel leaders in preparation for these engagements.

Non-Profit Relations

Identify, initiate, and oversee non-profit engagement opportunities that best align with HomeSafe’s mission, vision, and values.

Implement a regular cadence of meetings, touchpoints, and engagements with identified non-profit organizations. Lead all non-profit correspondence and outreach.

Advise the communications team on donation and collaboration opportunities that support HomeSafe’s communications plan and subsequently execute all engagements that the team greenlights.

Craft messaging strategy about HomeSafe’s non-profit involvement and author corresponding communication products.

Create and maintain non-profit engagement budget.

Other Duties

Perform all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned and/or required.

Attend and participate in all team meetings.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, External Relations, or related field or equivalent combination of work experience, education and training in lieu of degree

5 years of external affairs or communications experience.

Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements.

Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for conferences and events is required.

Ability to plan and execute conference participation, external events, and engagements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.

Ability to synthesize stakeholder perspectives in a complex environment.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote role.

Creative thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions.

Strong research and analytical skills to gather and interpret data and trends to drive strategic decision making.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.

Excellent prooing skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all communications.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the moving industry is preferred.

Prior personal military move experience as a veteran, military spouse, or family member of service member is a plus.

Experience with Webex by Cisco is a plus.
