The Growth Marketing Manager (GMM) leads the demand generation strategy and execution. This is a high-impact position in the marketing organization, focused primarily on digital channels, including, paid advertising (PPC), organic search (SEO), CRM and email marketing, and the systems that drive results. Balancing both strategic and tactical thinking, the GMM will lead a team accelerating growth at Sea-Bird Scientific and powering science-based decisions for a better ocean.The GMM will report to the Director of Marketing & Product Management, based in the Seattle, WA area.This position will be remote , and travel could be required, up to 25% of the time.In this role, a typical day will look like:
Team Leadership : Manage a team of digital marketers by supporting them in their growth and development and role execution
Digital Strategy : Develop and optimize a data-driven, multi-channel performance marketing strategy that achieves customer growth and financial objectives.
Demand Generation : Drive qualified lead generation and partner with Sales to optimize the leads process and move opportunities through the funnel.
Marketing Automation Strategy : Refine understanding of customer journey and leverage marketing automation tools to attract new customers and move existing customers through the sales cycle.
SEO & Paid Search : Own search strategy, budget and execution to drive awareness and growth.
Market Visibility : Understand and improve our digital marketing reach to maximize our access to our core market and access new and attractive adjacencies.
Data & Analytics : Review, analyze, and communicate data-driven program performance, identifying trends and opportunities while developing best practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness of campaign results. Track and manage resource investments, with a focus on optimizing return on investment.
Systems & Technology : Evaluate, select, test and implement MarTech/AdTech solutions and data strategies to accelerate Sea-Bird’s performance marketing objectives and operations.
Additional focus areas for individuals could include : Marketing innovation projects, team mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, customer insight generation, and definition of team targets and objectives.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
Experience leading a team of digital marketers in a technical industry
Ability to travel 25% of the time, domestic and international travel is required
It would be great if you also possess:
Top-tier communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
Completed or in-progress Marketo Certification a plus
