Objective: The purpose of this job description is to establish clear communications between the Company and its employees to ensure both have the same perception of duties, authorities, responsibilities, and measures of performance for the Asset and Safety Manager position. The following is the intent of SCS management to precisely describe the measured expectations of the Asset and Safety Manager position. Position Description Summary:
In general, the Asset and Safety Manager position is responsible to; protect company assets and improve profitability by developing and implementing Inventory Management, Field training, and Vehicle / equipment maintenance and safety programs for employees. Provide support to field management (Project Managers, Supervisors, Lead Technicians and Technician) in the administration of training, safety, loss control and assets protection programs.
Reporting Relationship:
The Asset and Safety Manager reports and is accountable to the President.
The Asset and Safety Manager is responsible for:
Estimating
Attend project walks when practical
Assist the Account Manager in the review of the scope, RFQ, and specifications
Determine appropriate cleaning methods, equipment, and schedule
Estimate labor/crew productivity
Material and Subcontractor proposal requests-Review with Management as needed
Development/setup of working cost estimate
Quote and scope development/preparation/review
Job folder set up-includes; Scope, Quote, Cost Estimate, Photo’s, notes, etc.
Project scheduling/coordination with Field managers
Review of Contract documents to confirm accuracy to the proposed scope
Asset Management
Overall Employee, Equipment and Vehicle supervision, and implementation
o Safety
Site Specific Tool Box Meetings
M.S.D.S. and Hazard Communication.
Customer added safety paperwork and procedures.
Analyze behaviors and safety trends and develops strategies for execution and improvement.
Ensure that all investigations and resolutions comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, as well as company policies.
Review all Workers Compensation reports and complete accident investigations for all WC claims; provide feedback and coaching as necessary when safety procedures or behaviors were not followed.
Maintain and update Safety Program(s) training material, PPE and tools.
Educate & train Project Managers, and employees on safety programs.
Conduct and facilitate safety workshops (include safety leader development, injury prevention and reduction in all areas, slip and fall prevention, twisting and proper lifting) and best practice training.
Accountable for monitoring/maintaining programs for compliance with state, federal and OSHA requirements.
o Quality
Perform Quality Control Checks during ongoing projects.
Attend weekly meetings to share up-to-date information, trend reporting, results, and delineate corrective actions needed as a team for improvements.
o Training
Provide training and development of Lead Technicians and Supervisors.
Create and maintain a calendar schedule of all training sessions.
o Equipment Maintenance
Schedule or perform repairs on all equipment, prioritizing as needed.
Make recommendations on replacements and acquisition
o Vehicle Maintenance
Maintain a regular schedule of service and repairs for all vehicles to ensure the safety of the fleet.
Verify that completed completing vehicle logs are being reviewed for needed repairs and services.
Make recommendations on replacements and acquisitions.
o Enforce discipline, safety, and quality standards.
o Notify the Project Manager, the Supervisor and violating employee(s) of any violations in written form prior to end of workday. In cases of severe violations of company rules where immediate termination is required consult with Business Manager.
