JOB DESCRIPTION GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTANT Privately held property management firm located in downtown Denver has an immediate opening for a motivated individual with three to five years or more of accounting experience to join our team. Our company focuses on Condo and Homeowners Association properties as well as some commercial buildings. The ideal applicant is a smart, articulate, confident and friendly team player. This is a fast-paced environment, so a successful candidate will be one who works best when busy and when simultaneously managing multiple priorities. Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting - Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in property management, real estate or related field; - Strong written & verbal communication skills - Thorough understanding of real estate operations and accounting concepts, including budgeting, CAM reconciliations, cost capitalization/depreciation, etc.; experience with consolidations/combinations a plus - Experience working with multiple properties and entities - Thorough understanding of various lease types (triple net, full service gross, etc.) - Positive attitude and a team player - Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; experience with Rent Manager accounting system preferred - Proven ability to multi-task, handle a very high volume, and work under pressure - Ability to maintain a positive, professional, and respectful attitude toward colleagues, clients, investors and lenders - Ability to analyze financial statements and report financial results - This is a hands-on role, so an attention to detail and a desire and ability to "wear multiple hats" are absolute musts Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: General Accounting: - Posting of cash receipts and creating and distributing monthly statements to tenants - Processing of invoices and related accounts payable functions - Preparing annual CAM reconciliations - Reconciling Balance Sheet accounts & Bank Statements - Generating Annual 1099's to vendors - Coordinating with Portfolio Managers with resolving tenants questions and disputes Financial Statements/Reporting: - Preparing monthly financial statements for numerous HOA and commercial entities, including variance analysis and cash flow projections - Preparing timely and accurate internal and external reporting packages - Coordinating year-end audit and tax work with public accountants - Assisting Portfolio Managers with budget preparation and forecasting Other duties and special projects as assigned Reports to: President/Owner Office hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday; overtime required at times ; Benefits: Generous benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance, paid holidays and vacation, company-paid cell phone and parking Qualified applicants please submit cover letter, resume, and three years of salary history and/or salary requirement to contact above.
