Department InformationThe MINDSOURCE Brain Injury Network manages (MINDSOURCE) administers the Colorado Brain Injury Trust Fund, which provides services to Colorado citizens with brain injuries and technical assistance and support to both private and public agencies regarding brain injury. MINDSOURCE was established in 1998 with a federal Traumatic Brain Injury planning grant through the US Department of Human Services. In 2000, Executive Order D 003 00 was signed, which designated the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) as the State Lead on Brain Injury. MINDSOURCE manages the Colorado Advisory Council on Brain Injury, which facilitates the development and implementation of the Colorado State Plan on Brain Injury as a part of MINDSOURCE’s federal grant activities. MINDSOURCE is responsible for providing training and technical assistance to other Divisions, Departments, and programs across State government. MINDSOURCE also manages Federal, State, and foundation grants to develop new initiatives to support individuals with brain injury and works with entities to ensure policies are in place across state agencies / programs to increase access to supports and services to people with brain injury. Description of JobThe purpose of this position is to manage the Administration for Community Living (ACL) federal grant received by MINDSOURCE and its associated projects and tasks. This grant begins August 1, 2021 and ends July 31, 2026, and is applied for each grant cycle to maintain and sustain the work funded through the ACL. The ACL grant funds this position and creates funding opportunities that allow MINDSOURCE Brain Injury Network to convene and support the Colorado Advisory Council on Brain Injuries (Council). The Council is responsible for drafting and guiding the implementation of the Colorado State Plan on Brain Injuries (Plan). This position will partner with federal grant and local Council partners and stakeholders to achieve the implementation of the Plan and meet grant goals and objectives. This position is responsible for tracking, evaluating, and reporting on grant progress to federal and local stakeholders. This position facilitates council and subcommittee meetings, leads associated communications with stakeholders, and develops partnerships to execute Plan goals and objectives. This position also leads the evaluation of ACL grant performance and recommends policies, procedures, and actions to ensure programmatic goals are achieved and sustained, and design and implement strategy, systems, processes, guidelines, rules, and standards for the future adoption and execution. This position will be responsible for tracking the budget and preparing annual budget expenditures for the upcoming federal fiscal year. Finally, this position will be responsible for tracking and reporting progress on the ACL grant and be the lead author on future ACL grant applications. Program management in early hearing detection and intervention or related subject area

Working with people with lived experience

Program implementation

Program evaluation

Education and Experience:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned (early childhood, human services, or related field) equal to eight (8) years

Preferred qualifications:

Advanced degree in social work, psychology, or related field

Experience working with people with lived experience

Knowledge of federal grant funding

Experience writing grant applications

Experience managing and reporting on grants

Understanding of the uniqueness of the brain injury community

Advanced facilitation and collaborative skills

Exceptional leadership and organizational skills

Experience with monitoring and oversight of program operations and service delivery

Experience with program evaluation

Experience translating state and federal statute and policies and translating them for local implementation

Demonstrated experience developing reports and information based on data collection and analysis and presenting that information in a variety of ways and settings

Budget and fiscal management experience

Ability to work successfully and independently in a hybrid work environment

Experience advocating for vulnerable and underserved populations

Commitment to providing services and leadership with an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens

Proven ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and ethical approaches in job performance

Proficiency using Google Suite products and other technology, such as Zoom, printers, scanners, file-sharing platforms, databases, timekeeping software, and other applications required to perform the essential functions of the job
