Wherever we go we engage faith, relationship-building, and volunteers to lift up and support Colorado’s most vulnerable citizens.JOB SUMMARYThe Veteran Program Specialist assists human service programs in meeting the needs of persons seeking assistance. Inputs initial assessment functions, intakes and recertification for clients engaged in services. The Veteran Program Specialist supports case management with administrative duties, as assigned. This position serves the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program in the Denver Metro region. SSVF is a rapid rehousing program that serves Veterans and Veteran families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their housing.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides administrative and programmatic support services for client service teams.
Conducts eligibility screening and intake appointments with prospective program participants
Assists with front desk coverage, as needed
Performs regular audits of files to ensure compliance
Assists with reconciling financial statements, including Temporary Financial Assistance
Assists with by name list tracking and data entry into the homeless management information system
Provide help to the team on an as-needed basis with habitability inspections, running checks, dropping off items for clients
Collects pertinent statistics and prepares reports as required by supervisor and according to funding source guidelines.
Supports hiring practices for the program
Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION
Associate’s degree in communication, human services, administration, or related fields.
Must possess a Colorado driver’s license and state-mandated automobile insurance.
Must possess a personal vehicle that may be used for work-related travel (reimbursement for mileage is available).
Must complete agency and program credentialing within 12 weeks of hire and maintain credentialing standards thereafter.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION OF POSITION
1 year of related experience (preference for experience with administrative support and data entry)
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Travel throughout the program’s service area is required on a regular basis.
Must be able to work in diverse and, at times, uncomfortable environments such as homeless shelters, service facilities, streets, offices, and all other locations as necessary to fulfill program objectives.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Full-Time or Part-Time as indicated in the posting.
Work hours vary depending upon program requirements but are typically scheduled around a 40-hour work week.
