The 49th, a neighborhood bar and restaurant featuring Alaskan inspired food and drinks, is looking for a full time head chef at our Southwest Denver location! Our ideal candidate will efficiently lead our BOH team with a positive attitude, maximize profitability and organization within the back of house, and ensure customers continue to enjoy delicious, consistent food from our small, but mighty, kitchen.
Duties to be completed in a 40-45 hour workweek include:
Placing product orders, properly checking in and storing product, ensuring quality product is delivered, and maintaining communication with food distribution representatives.
Completing inventory and menu costing.
Daily prep and on line cooking responsibilities.
Maintaining a well organized and clean BOH space.
Adhering to public health code and ensuring staff is trained on proper methods and procedures.
Maintaining a positive working culture with FOH and BOH crew and effectively and positively leading staff to increase productivity, standards of cleanliness, and efficiency on the line.
Scheduling, hiring, interviewing, staging, training, reprimanding, writing up, and terminating BOH employees as needed.
Creating and executing weekly, monthly, and seasonal specials that are profitable and on brand.
