OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are:
A self-starter with a professional appearance and at least two years of office experience
Well organized
Easily able to keep things confidential
Detail oriented and good at proofing numbers and writing: accuracy is more important than speed.
You have:
Experience with Word and Excel. Useful but not required: experience with Quickbooks.
A compelling reason for seeking a part-time position rather than a full-time one right now.
WHO WE ARE
We are an accounting and tax planning practice specializing in estates, trusts, and partnerships. We have a small (usually 2-3 people) office in Capitol Hill and a strong base of customers in Colorado and several other states. We have been in business for 30+ years. We are honest, ethical, knowledgeable about tax law and accounting, and meticulous about confidentiality. Our office culture is friendly and professional.
WHAT WE OFFER
We are offering a starting salary of $22 per hour and a flexible schedule that can work around your family demands, school schedule, or another job. You would need to come into the office 5 days per week, but could schedule your working shift of 4 hours per day at whatever time is convenient during our office hours (9-5), as long as you can stick with the same schedule every week with only occasional adjustments. Our office is a compatible, friendly, efficient and productive environment in a nice office building, with free parking provided.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES
Maintain Office Supplies
Project Management
Keep log of current jobs, maintain Work In Process sheet
Maintain notebooks (engagement letters, eFile confirmations, IRS Powers of Attorney)
Client Management
Scan client information into database
Set up client data envelopes and files
Create Portal account for new clients
Scan and save completed tax return in database
Time and Billing
Enter Time and Expenses into Quickbooks
Keep track of invoices sent out and outstanding invoices
Postage
Create postage labels online
Keep postage log up to date
Maintain postage supplies
Expense Log
Keep track of office expenses
Organization
Maintain calendars, files, and other systems to keep us organized
Organize and save emails
Update and organize the client database
Computer Management
Back up client files, tax program, and Quickbooks
Run virus scans
Security - Change Passwords/ Run Password Manager
Email Management
Copy client emails into client database
Record Management
Pull files to be destroyed; coordinate with shredder company
Pull files to go to storage, label boxes, and create and index boxes
Phone log
Keep track of voicemails and missed phone calls
Security Management
Maintain security plan for client information
