Property Manager’s Assistant Part Time. 8AM to 12PM five days a week. Other work is available as a Handyman’s Helper if desired. (Our Handyman Supervisor started with us 12 years ago as a Handyman’s Helper, now she is our full-time Handyman Supervisor.) As a Property Manager’s Assistant, you will have the opportunity to learn the full job and responsibilities of a skilled and highly sought after Property Manager.
Depending on experience and qualifications, we would start the new-hire's pay to be between $22.00 - $25.00 per hour.
Basic Job Description and More:
Work with the Property Manager: learning all of the details and various parts of the office and accounting portions of the property management business.
Work with the Tenants: collecting rent, showing rental properties, help tenants understand the terms of the leases and help enforce lease provisions, serve notices on tenants for various reasons, work between maintenance and tenants regarding maintenance requests/work orders, help solve all problems that may arise between property ownership, maintenance staff and tenants. Be able to handle evictions, work orders, and overall maintenance staff, tenant and property management situations.
Marketing: work with possible tenants to make sure that their applications for tenancy are filled out properly and completely. Check out, in great detail, tenant applications. Work with the property manager in the showing of the various properties that are for rent. Get leases signed as directed by the property manager, become extremely familiar with our leases, and our other legal documents, and be able to explain the nuances found in our documents to possible would-be tenants, deeply involved in the enforcement of the terms and that such
Maintenance: work with maintenance staff and property manager to coordinate and execute various and sundry maintenance projects; help solve any and all problems that may exist/arise between management, maintenance staff, and tenants.
Necessities: should have great people skills, ability to be organized and the ability to multitask, demonstrate patience when working with tenants to resolve all issues between tenants and management. All of our employees must have reliable transportation, cell phones, and be able to work with a “text-in text-out” work requirement in most every situation. We require punctuality, responsibility, and a willingness to get the work done professionally and on time. We appreciate and respond well to our people that show a definite “urgency” in getting the work done. Must be extremely dependable and professional at all times and with everyone.
Attitude: punctuality is a necessity, have a positive attitude with an I can and will do viewpoint is absolutely required. Must be very willing and able to work with management and workout problems and difficulties that may arise with everyone, especially the tenants, regarding everything that needs to be resolved between the tenants and management.
Helpful Skills and Attributes, not absolutely necessary: should have very good people skills, be organized, good computer skills would be helpful, ability to stay busy and find things that need to be done during slow or downtimes.
