Additionally, WGAC provides advocacy and support for victims of sexual violence, stalking, sexual harassment and relationship violence. Our purpose is to provide a safe and affirming space for the students we serve at Colorado State University, while supporting systemic change to end all forms of oppression within our community.WGAC programs and services include:

Educational and outreach programming on gender related concerns;

General information and resource referral on issues related to gender;

Victim advocacy and assistance for survivors of interpersonal violence; and

The WGAC lending library of print and media materials.

Position SummaryThe Masculinity Programming and Violence Prevention Coordinator in the Women and Gender Advocacy Center is a full-time, 12-month position reporting to the Assistant Director of Educational Programming.The priority for the The Masculinity Programming and Violence Prevention Coordinator is to co-create and facilitate critical and intersectional prevention programmatic efforts that provide a space to learn about and discuss the broad and deep construction of masculinities as they relate to power, sex-positivity, consent education, sexual assault and interpersonal violence prevention education, and positive gender identity formation. The goal of these prevention efforts is to create a collective shift away from coercive cultural norms towards respectful and caring interactions inherent in a culture of consent in which creating agreements, looking for common ground, and respecting boundaries is the norm, for both sexual contact and everyday activities.This position will collaborate with the Assistant Director for Educational Programming and various campus partners by creating brave spaces for men and masculine identifying people to unlearn harmful dominant gender socialization and relationship norms while building positive masculine identities and learning how to have healthier, more connected relationships with themselves and others in community.This position will also support the Center in facilitating other Center programs as needed, such as Supporting Survivors and Bystander Intervention. This position will become trained as a victim advocate.Required Job Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, women and gender studies, Feminist studies, social work, psychology, liberal arts, human services, student affairs, or a related field

Demonstrate an understanding of interpersonal violence

An understanding of issues that affect students in a higher education setting related to interpersonal violence and sexual assault.

Must demonstrate an understanding of gender socialization, racialization, masculinities, interpersonal and relationship violence, sexual assault victim assistance services, and/or gender education work related to interpersonal violence prevention.

Demonstrated experience giving presentations to various audiences.

Experience working from an intersectional, trauma-informed framework and understanding in how to reach diverse student populations effectively.

Available to work evenings and weekends as necessary to best meet the needs of our students

Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and with individuals and groups who hold a variety of identities, cultures, and backgrounds.

Demonstrated experience in building collaborative teams of students, faculty and/or staff members in dynamic environments.

Preferred Job Qualifications

Demonstrated success in educational program design including large-scale marketing initiatives and/or social norming campaigns

Demonstrated experience with social justice education with university athletics and/or fraternity/sorority life

Demonstrated experience with the coordination and training of peer educators

Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with people, programs and organizations with distinctly varied missions, goals, and objectives

Demonstrated experience with data collection, creating reports, assessment and developing/implementing learning outcomes, specifically through an equity framework

A record of personal and professional initiative, flexibility and strong communication skills, including public speaking and writing.

A demonstrated ability to receive and implement change after receiving feedback in a professional setting.

Proficiency in speaking, reading and/or writing in an additional language.

Sophisticated understanding of self-awareness and power dynamics concepts, and their impacts on building trusting and supportive environments.

Demonstrated experience of developing, planning, and implementing educational programs that speak to the diverse lives of survivors, including the development of educational materials, pamphlets, and presentations.

Participate in the development and expansion of new men and masculinities focused curriculum and programming.

Develop curricula and empowerment/leadership groups for men/masculine-identifying students.

Prepare and implement bi- weekly activities based on the curriculum.

Create programming specific to Fraternities, ROTC , and Men’s athletics.

Collaborate with campus partners to recruit men/masculine identifying students into WGAC programs.

In collaboration with the advocacy team, facilitate groups for men and masculine identifying students impacted by interpersonal violence, if there is an articulated need for this service.

Provide information and referral for students, faculty, staff and other clientele on gender-related concerns

Support general WGAC awareness month programming in October (Relationship Violence Awareness Month) and April (Sexual Assault Awareness Month).

Understand campus resources, policies and procedures and serve as a reliable and accurate source of information to current and prospective students

Co-supervise peer education team

Serve as a positive role model for Colorado State University students

Represent the WGAC at meetings with campus community collaborators and other events.
