Commercial HVAC Field Foreman

The Field Foreman position is the lead foreman on a job site. This position reports to the Field Supervisor. They are responsible for managing the day to day production of job; including managing the field personnel on each job. They may be responsible for multiple jobs at any given time. We need a foreman with 8+ years commercial experience.

Management & Leadership: The Field Foreman’s most important and most challenging roll is providing leadership and management of their team. This requires the Foreman to commit to continuing education and displaying good leadership skills. It is essential that the Field Foreman communicates with the GC. They will be responsible for ordering all duct/fittings, pipe, spins, etc. (excluding equipment). This position will also assist project manager with ordering long lead items, including counts and quantities of GRD’s.

We hold our foreman to a higher standard of leadership, understanding and responsibility. When a dispute arises with an employee; we expect the field foreman to be willing to reach across the aisle and make all necessary attempts to meet the employee half-way. They are also expected to lead by example.

Communication: The Field Foreman is the point of contact for all assigned projects. Daily communication is essential. Daily field reports are required and critical. The consistent daily communication needs to provide a thorough description of each job’s production status and to report any personnel issues and concerns. Additionally, the daily report should also include achievements of our field personnel and overall positive results accomplished on each project. Communication methods will include by phone, email and through Procore, our project management software. Daily attention will be required to ensure lifts, tools, material, etc. is on the job site for continued production. Maintaining consistent job production will require planning ahead so that schedules aren’t delayed due to poor job management.

The Field Foreman is responsible for communicating with the job site superintendent regarding scheduling priority items, such as hard lids, inspections and job status. The Field Foreman is required to answer calls from superintendents even during after work hours.

Customer relations: This position requires courtesy and professionalism while interacting with the general contractors (our customer) and potentially the end customer /tenant. It is required that you always present yourself in a clean and presentable manner. Customer relations and excellent service are key tenets of Clear Creek’s culture and values. Establishing strong customer relations and providing excellent service will help ensure the future success of everyone and the company. To maintain strong customer relations, open communication is required with multiple contacts including, GC, internal Project Manager, Customer, other trades and our employees on site.

Quality: It is paramount that the Field Foreman possess and exhibits strong leadership skills. It is required of the Foreman to uphold Clear Creek Mechanical’s high standards. They are expected to maintain the high quality of workmanship by inspecting all aspects of the job, including confirmation that all HVAC codes have been met. One of the primary goals of the Foreman should be to keep punch lists down to zero.

Training: It is imperative for the future growth and vitality of the company that we are ALWAYS training. One of the roles of the Field Foreman is to consistently promote education and training of the trade in-line with the tenets of Clear Creek’s culture. It is Clear Creek’s goal that all Foremen obtain a Journeyman’s license.

Job Management: This consists of providing tools and equipment needed to complete the job. They need to plan ahead and coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure the staffing and schedule are not delayed due to missing material or other site issues. They are responsible for communicating with the PM and the customer regarding schedule and completion of all assigned jobs. They will also be required to attend weekly job site meetings as needed.

Job Close Out: They are to ensure that ALL production has been finished and that the completed work matches the prints. They are required to make a punch list at the end of each job and then ensure that the list is completed. Redlines must be completed after job is completed. There are to be NO lose ends – 100% completion.

They will also need to perform any other task deemed necessary by leadership.

$30-$35 / hour – Depending on experience and licenses
