Colorado Home Remodeling, a Licensed General Contractor, is needing an experienced Lead Finish Carpenter who is adept at many aspects of finish carpentry for Residential Remodeling as the primary skill, and standard residential interior framing as an adjunct skill. We have an outstanding reputation, because we hire qualified people. We are a small and tight knit operation, and well managed on the backend. We offer flexibility and and a good atmosphere of well contracted jobs to work in. This is a contract position that could be in excess of 900 hours a year or more. You are often not asked to work alone unless you want to. There will be general job site management and team management, along with workflow management. The ideal candidate probably started learning carpentry at a young age. We have a flooring crew, you are not being hired for flooring, the occasional flooring repair yes, but not a production flooring person. We have that already. The level of tasks that would typically be asked of you in a year, is case/base/sills/, doors of various types, landings and stairs, the occasional deck with railings, floor repairs, hanging cabinets, various types of residential trim, basic framing, and installing beams with helpers (often following an engineering plan), building interior walls and shower walls, more complicated stair railings, biscuit joining, mortise and tenon on occasion, and a carpenter who knows many "tricks of the trade". The more experienced and well equipped you are, the more this position pays. Dependability and communication are key attributes we need for this position, and the ability to lead others when you are not working alone. Assembling a spiral staircase pre-fab kit that could potentially arise in the course of a year.
