Common Good Compost (CGC) is hiring for a part-time (10-12hrs/wk starting) route driver/food waste collector (clean job, waste is bagged and in 5-gallon buckets). MUST HAVE CLEAN DRIVING RECORD! Tuesdays and Fridays 8:00am(ish) position, rare weekend routes required. Work is done mostly alone and in company's electric vehicles. Easy-to-use route app provided by company.
Business is located in Fort Collins near Mulberry and Timberline. Route vehicles pull small (4'x7') trailers with collection bins on routes. Routes are in Fort Collins, Windsor, and Loveland.
Must be able to unload full wheeled collection bins (typical residential trash bin size) from trailer ramp/gate to staging area at end of route. CGC uses electric vehicles during most of the year but has 4x4 gas vehicles for use in snowy conditions.
Must look professional, DRIVE SAFELY (vehicles are electronically monitored) and have good attitude. Must be clocked in by 8am for all routes (negotiable). Must be able to work alone for entire route (except during training). Position open first week of April, will be holding interviews in the next few days!
$18.50/hour starting pay. 10-12 hours a week initially, more hours available soon. Small 3-person business growing quickly.
Responsibilities:
Driver position: follow routing app on phone (Route4Me integrated with Google Maps and Apple Maps, paid for by CGC) to navigate CGC's vehicles on residential routes throughout Fort Collins (majority), Windsor, and Loveland. Up to 120 stops per route. Each stop has a 5-gallon bin of bagged food waste to empty into collection trailer towed behind the vehicle. At the end of route bins are wheeled off of trailer via the fold-down trailer gate and replaced with empty bins. Some supporting tasks as well.
