This is the foundation of a connected world flexible enough to satisfy all the social, economic and transformative needs of the changing world.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn the ORCID lab, responsibilities include installing, configuring, and troubleshooting test environment equipment for infrastructure testing. The candidate will offer expert support for testing pre-GA products and software in virtualized O-RAN systems. Rapid analysis of service and system issues, along with implementing corrective actions, is crucial. Complex issues will be escalated to the lab manager or ISVs as necessary. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to ongoing process improvement reviews using KPI metrics to reduce errors and enhance lab uptime, ensuring an outstanding end-user experience.In this role, you will:
Analyze test requirements and implement suitable infrastructure solutions.
Ensure solutions align with criteria outlined in test plans from internal and external clients.
Provide subject matter expertise (SME) support to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in RF and O-RAN test systems.
Engage vendors and escalate issues when equipment or software performance falls short.
Coordinate proposed changes and software upgrades with support from ISV and internal DISH groups.
Maintain up-to-date technical specifications for lab and external systems managed by the team.
Collaborate with technical writers to document lab processes for new configurations and procedures.
Skills, Experience and RequirementsIn this role, you will:
BS in Engineering or technical field, or equivalent experience and education.
Over 8 years of experience in the wireless industry.
Extensive expertise in 5G O-RAN split functions and call flow architecture.
Proficiency in O-RAN software architectures in virtualized environments.
In-depth understanding of RF radio operations and virtualized ORAN functions.
Knowledge of latency considerations in gNB to Data Center communications.
Familiarity with RAN/ORAN architecture per 3GPP standards and ideally experience with Mavenir and/or Samsung RAN environments.
