Frisco Assistant Manager - $16/hr
Pioneer Sports is one of Colorado's finest bike, ski, and snowboard rental shops. We have been serving Summit County's guests and locals since 1980. We continue to offer convenient locations, quality goods and services, and a strong commitment to making our customer's ski days memorable.
Job Outline:
- Expected to work year round full time. Ski and Bike knowledge required.
- In charge of running the floor at the Frisco location 5 shifts per week.
- POS knowledge, able to run and understand financial reports and make decisions based on results.
- Inventory assessments, maintenance, and making sure all assets are entered correctly.
- Management of associates in order to appropriately serve rental and retail customers as well as store upkeep and appearance. It will be your job to keep all associates busy at all times and to refrain from socializing with associates to a point where you cant manage them properly.
- Applicant will need to understand HR responsibilities and safety practices in order to advise and minimize risk management as it applies to renting equipment and managing a store.
- Office and administrative work will be part of your job duties. The GM or Store manager can and will delegate certain tasks needing accomplished to appropriately manage office work.
- Merchandising and floor layout. Assistant manager will be responsible for creating an appealing sales floor. Fixtures, signage, & organization are a couple examples of Assistant manager responsibilities.
- Floor and efficiency. Assistant manager will be responsible for maintaining a productive and efficient rental business with the associates available per day.

Qualifications/requirements:
1. Previous Job Experience- Applicant must have experience in a ski and bike shop, as well as retail experience or comparable to.
2. Job knowledge or experience- Applicant needs to have basic ski and bike knowledge.
3. Management Experience- Must have at least one year of experience in managing and training staff.
4. Business Experience- Must have experience with making logical business decisions based on financial reports and other variables.
5. Education- Applicant needs to have attended an accredited college for at least one year with an average GPA of 3.0 and have plans to finish your higher education. Or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
6. Reasoning Ability/problem solving- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Applicant needs to have good problem solving skills, and the ability to consider Risk Management in all decisions.
7. Language Skills- In English, the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
8. Lifting and Caution- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and the ability to show caution while handling skis with sharp metal edges and bikes with sharp metals protrusions.
9. Attendance- Frisco Assistant Manager is required to work all holidays and busy times of the year, requesting off a busy holiday or weekend will result in immediate loss of position.
