As the new Business Process Improvement Analyst you will lead improvement efforts with teams in order to solve problems and find the most efficient and effective ways to do our work. The work includes using structured problem solving frameworks and tools to help teams address pain points, understand process flow, review related metrics, and address the root causes of the issues. You will work with multiple teams across the agency and need to be able to independently handle simultaneous requests of varying complexity. This position will need to build and maintain relationships across teams, customers and vendors. As needed, you will act in a lead role for specific process improvement projects and will exercise some control over the work product of others involved in the project. Some of the day to day opportunities include: Providing support to teams to prioritize process improvement initiatives. Building and sustaining positive relationships with team members, stakeholders and clients and being responsive to changes in needs and expectations. Driving continuous improvement of service delivery to OIT teams and our agency customers by using a variety of methods, not limited to include Lean, change management, behavioral insights, and design thinking. Developing effective reporting tools for the business unit including quality assurance of data. Preparing routine and ad hoc reports. Analyzing trends and recommending adjustments. Recommending changes to organizational policies, processes, templates, tools, and standard operating procedures. Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal RightsA wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While all offers are compliant with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, there is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis. Minimum Qualifications:A minimum of three years of experience as a process analyst including documenting processes, workflows, use cases, metrics, etc. Experience with process improvement frameworks. Experience with IT service management best practices. Experience leading and managing groups of people in evaluating and designing processes. Substitutions:Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications. Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications. Additional, appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant process improvement certification or training. (Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA, Change Management, etc.) Strong knowledge of common business applications such as: Lucidchart, Google Workspace-Suite (Google). ITIL or PMP certifications are desirable. Conditions of Employment:OIT employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state entity locations where they might be required to perform work.A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. Positions supporting some agencies such as the Department of Corrections and the Department of Public Safety will also require a pre-employment drug test. This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed. All remote work must be performed in Colorado. While candidates from out of state will be considered for this role, the candidate selected for the position must relocate and reside in Colorado on the first day of their new position.
