Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity in the District of Columbia, United States. This role is in the administrative sector, where you will be working as an Administrative Assistant. As an integral part of the team, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks ranging from calendar management to coordinating travel arrangements. Responsibilities: Assist with copying, filing, and managing phones and emails. Write memos and other written communications, ensuring strong written skills are utilized. Schedule appointments and meetings, managing a complex calendar. Coordinate travel arrangements and handle travel expense reports. Run various reports as required by the team or management. Provide an opportunity to grow into an Executive Assistant role with experience and skill development. Ensure all administrative tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Handle any other duties as assigned to support the team. Requirements Demonstrated experience in Administrative Assistance Proficiency in Calendar Management Experience with Travel Expense reporting and reconciliation Ability to Coordinate Travel Arrangements effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent customer service skills Availability to work standard office hours with potential for occasional overtime. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: To qualify for this position, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-11) in the normal line of progression for the occupation of Executive Assistant. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves: 1). Office management to include keeping schedules for leadership, arranging meetings, procuring supplies, and maintaining office inventory. 2). Arrange conferences and other events for leadership while providing logistical assistance including making travel arrangements, itineraries, and submitting travel vouchers. 3). Prepare correspondence, proo, and ensure compliance with established policy. AND 4). Enter time and attendance data into an electronic system, and coordinate leave and other timekeeping issues. Education There is no educational substitution for the GS-12 level. Additional Information Work Schedule: Regular office hours; Alternate work schedules are available. Title/PD#: Executive Assistant GS - 12; PD 39834-0 Promotion Potential: This position is at the full performance level. Time-in-grade: Applicants who are/were federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11 level.
