Details: The assistant director of dining services will support retail and/or residential dining operations on campus.

Requirement: Hospitality/food service management experience

Reports to: Director

Pay Range: $60,000-65,000 per year

Job SummarySummary: As an Assistant Director of Dining Services II, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day food service operations of a small to medium volume location. You will manage and lead a team of associates, and will be responsible for talent development, managing client relationships, profitability, and supporting financial goals in an assigned area.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with the Chef and management team in creating nutritious and top quality food.

Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams.

Maintains excellent relationships with the client.

Manages, trains, and develops associates.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1 to 3 years of food service supervisory or lead experience.

Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Financial experience and business acumen skills.

Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.

Associate’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities The Associate Director (Research & Scholarly Services) is responsible for leading Smithsonian’s Institutions (SI) 21 research libraries which provide pan-institutional research and collections services. The position will direct staff to select and manage nearly 3 million SLA print and electronic collections and other resources held by the Research & Scholarly Services (RSS). In this position, you will be: Performing the full range of supervisory personnel functions for Research & Scholarly Services library staff. Oversees the establishment of goals, articulation of priorities, development of schedules and checklists, and the assignment of tasks. Develops policies, procedures, and workflows that will achieve these goals and regularly reviews department success in meeting mission, objectives, and goals. Interprets trends and assesses impacts of trends in library services initiatives. Makes recommendations on the development of innovative programs and initiatives and supports traditional services as appropriate. Oversees the budget for SLA Research & Scholarly Services.
