Established by Dr. Charles Holmes, CIGH brings together a multi-disciplinary team with a track record of tackling some of the toughest challenges in public health. Job OverviewThe Communications Associate serves as technical advisor and coordinator for the Center for Innovation in Global Health’s (CIGH) outreach and communications efforts to a variety of stakeholders, including U.S. and international policy makers, donors, and global health experts. They support Center leadership in developing and implement communications strategies to advance the Center’s influence and play a vital role in helping shape CIGH’s work in responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

Develop, manage, and coordinate the Center’s editorial calendar, including dissemination in a variety of mediums to share and promote the learnings of CIGH’s projects, including via multimedia tools, publishing op-eds, policy briefs, and email newsletters.

Coordinate communications related to the Center’s projects with relevant stakeholders.

Organize and support implementation of public and private convenings to advance CIGH’s dissemination of information, findings, and products.

Write and generate content on behalf of the Center, and provide editorial support to products written by Center staff and its partners.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

Content Creation and Dissemination

Editorial Calendar, Social Media, and Multimedia Management

Partner and Stakeholder Liaison

Event Coordination and Implementation

Work Interactions and Work Mode DesignationReporting to the Director of Center for Innovation in Global Health and working closely with the Deputy Director and other team members to implement communications content and outreach strategies, the Communications Associate regularly engage with the Center’s subaward partners, including in-country communications partners in the countries the Center supports.This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Such review may necessitate a change to a position’s mode of work designation. Bachelor’s degree

3 to 5 years of experience

Exceptionally strong writing skills, including online and social media content development, website content production and publication, and effective outreach to academic, nonprofit, government, and other policymaker audiences

Proven critical thinking/problem-solving skills and ability to grasp “big picture” concepts and granular complexities.

Functional knowledge of the following communications tools: WordPress, MailChimp, G Suite, Facebook, and Twitter

Experience with institutional communications

Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with often overlapping deadlines - while maintaining a high degree of thoroughness and accuracy and proven critical thinking/problem solving skills

Highly flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances

Capacity for working both independently and within a team environment

Verbal communications and diplomatic skills

Experience working in multicultural settings - particularly with Sub-Saharan Africa
