Our community is a tight knit group of remarkable individuals interested in intellectual inquiry and making a difference in the world.RequirementsOutreach Coordinato r – Office of Career Strategy – Georgetown University Law Center Job OverviewThe Outreach Coordinator supports the employer outreach efforts of Office of Career Strategy (OCS) (https://www.law.georgetown.edu/your-life-career/career-exploration-professional-development/for-jd-students/meet-the-teams/office-of-career-strategy/) generally – and more specifically, supports the Recruitment Team to increase the strength and breadth of our relationships with private sector employers outside of “biglaw.” The large law firm market is constricting and there is an increasingly large portion of the student population that is interested in private sector employment outside of “biglaw” - the employers to which most of our outreach has traditionally been targeted.They work closely with the Assistant Dean - who spearheads overall employer outreach - and with the OCS Advisors and Recruitment Team to determine priorities for employer relationship building - to facilitate connections between Georgetown, its students, and these employers. As well, they create and run our inaugural post-grad law firm pipeline program - GLAMP (Georgetown Law Alumni Mentorship Program) - that will partner with the private sector seeking recent graduates with law firms for one-year fellowship opportunities.Work Interactions and Work Mode DesignationReporting directly to the Assistant Dean, who spearheads employer relations for the OCS, the Outreach Coordinator is a member of the OCS Recruitment Team.They work closely with the Assistant Dean and other members of the OCS office to pinpoint needs for relationship building - e.g., the large firms in smaller markets, or trade associations, or Tax firms that hire lawyers - and then to develop relationships with those employers.They have an essential role in supporting students who are interested in working in the private sector, but have been are unsuccessful in OCI (our on-campus recruiting program) or are interested in “biglaw” - the sector of the market with which we maintain the closest relationships.An important member of our team, the Outreach Coordinator necessarily meets quarterly outreach metrics.This position has been designated as Hybrid. J.D. or other advanced

0-2 years of legal experience and/or counseling background and/or experience working with law students

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Demonstrable interpersonal skills and a team approach to problem solving

Strong attention to detail

Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and to efficiently work independently
