Join us in our journey of measuring progress to power human progress worldwide.The Director for the Office of Strategic Research Alliances will assist the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Strategic Research Alliances in managing the office and ensuring the highest standards of quality. This role involves providing support and guidance to team members, facilitating training and capacity-building initiatives across ETS, and supporting the AVP in managing non-revenue generating partnerships. The Director will play a crucial role in fostering collaboration and maintaining the efficiency of the office's operations.The Director for the Office of Strategic Research Alliances will play a pivotal role in supporting the AVP and ensuring the success of the office's initiatives, contributing to the organization's growth and mission-driven impact.Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a portfolio of funders and proposals. Lead proposal development process & serve as internal and external liaison for portfolio of funders and proposals.

Develop and maintain partnerships with academic, governmental, and non-profit organizations.

Oversee Proposal Manager and USG proposal pipeline. Provide support and guidance to ETS Research Institute’s Strategic Research Alliances team and across the Institute.

Training and Capacity Building:

Develop and implement training programs to support Research and Measurement Scientists’ success with federal and nonfederal proposals.

Facilitate workshops, seminars, and other training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.

Collaborate with other departments to identify and address training needs within the organization.

Non-Revenue Generating Partnerships:

Support the AVP in managing non-revenue generating partnerships, ensuring alignment with ETS's mission and strategic goals. ETS Research Institute has a growing list of research partners whose priorities align. These include the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics (NL at Nijmegen), Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behavior at Radboud University, Max Planck Institute for Human Development (Berlin), Leibniz Institute for Educational Research and Information (Frankfurt), and the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (Kiel), among many others.

Coordinate with partners to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and mutual benefit.

Collaboration and Reporting:

Work closely with the AVP and other senior leaders to align the office's activities with organizational priorities.

Contribute to prospect research, the development of strategic plans, reports, and presentations.

Develop collateral materials, PowerPoint templates, slide decks, etc.

Develop dashboards, monitoring systems, and other tools to clearly communicate to leadership and colleagues across ETS progress towards goals.

Oversee CRM and grants management system, and maintain meticulous records of partnerships, projects, and outcomes.

Support and Guidance:

Provide support and guidance to team members, helping them navigate challenges and achieve goals.

Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.

Act as a mentor to junior staff, providing insights and expertise to enhance their skills and performance.

Office Management and Quality Assurance:

Assist the AVP in managing the day-to-day operations of the Office of Strategic Research Alliances.

Ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained in all office activities and outputs and report regularly on progress towards goals.

Oversee the implementation of office policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function.

Knowledge and Skills:

Demonstrated experience in managing partnerships and collaborations.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Exemplary written and oral communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Advanced computer skills in MS Office, SharePoint, and other relevant software.

Education and Experience:

A Master’s degree in a relevant field.

A minimum of seven years of experience in a management or leadership role.
