This role will report directly to the Head of Federal Government Business in Siemens Smart Infrastructure Federal Vertical.This individual will lead Federal Business Development Power Distribution activities within the Federal Vertical. This role will work in in full collaboration with sales executives, sales leadership, and executive management. They will generate new customer acquisition, uncover, and qualify opportunities by driving early decision-maker engagement directly with the Federal Government. This individual will develop and establish strong ongoing relationships with critical end-users, program offices, contracting personnel, A/E design firms, engineering stakeholders, general contractors, electrical contractors, small businesses, strategic teaming partnerships and industry stakeholders.Federal Business Development Manager – Power DistributionThis position will be remote in the continental US.Role Description

Develop account penetration strategies for new customer acquisition, drive strategic Federal priorities, increase order intake, and create/execute Federal strategic account plan for Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s Low Voltage, Medium Voltage, Microgrid, EV solutions

Understand and utilize Federal market trends, Federal mission priorities and Federal Government customer requirements to grow the Power Distribution business.

Command and manage all aspects of new early opportunity identification with end-users while partnering with sales executives as opportunities develop and approach a more tactical closing phase.

Identify and capture new federal civilian and defense business, including leveraging and/or creating relationships, driving specifications, developing effective teaming and win strategies with End-User and contract value chain.

Provide expertise of Federal Government knowledge and standards to create and drive a winning strategy with general contractors and electrical contractors.

Drive Strategy and Leadership with the sales executives on J&A’s, Presolicitation, Sources Sought, Request for Information (RFIs), and Request for Proposal/Quote (RFP/RFQ) as a federal subject matter expert.

Represent Siemens in Federal industry associations, professional organization, and affiliations through thought leadership and speaking engagements.

Voice of Customer; Business Development Manager is responsible for long term strategic and tactical planning, relaying the customers vison for increased order intake and Federal specific requirements with Siemens Smart Infrastructure stakeholders.

Responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with Federal agency end-users, Federal prime contractors, Federal A/E design firms and small/disadvantaged business contractors to grow business and drive order intake.

You will win us over by having the following qualifications:Basic Qualifications:

BA/BS

10+ years of a proven track record in Federal Government Sales (Leadership)

5+ years’ experience with Federal procurement, Federal Government contract vehicles, FAR/DFAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations)

3+ years proven experience identifying and capturing new federal civilian and defense business, including leveraging and/or creating relationships, driving specifications, developing effective teaming and win strategies with End-User and contract value chain.

5+ years knowledge of systems integration, IT/OT, IoT, AI, FedRAMP, RMF (Risk Management Framework) ATO (Authority to Operate), cybersecurity, CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Matrix Compliance)

5+ years experience in Electrical products or Energy Industry

Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or Advanced Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering

The pay range for this position is $106,000 - $181,700 and is eligible for 25% annual bonus.
