Location: Washington, DC or Dallas Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM FLSA: Exempt Position Type: Full-Time/Regular Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are currently seeking a Firmwide Attorney Recruiting Coordinator, in the Attorney Recruiting & Development department, reporting to the Attorney Recruiting Manager.The role can reside in the Dallas or Washington, DC office with hybrid work capabilities and will be responsible for working with the Attorney Recruiting Manager in regard to all aspects of the firm’s attorney recruiting and development functions, including the Summer Associate Program, law school and lateral attorney hiring, and the professional development of associates and counsel. The Attorney Recruiting Coordinator is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm’s attorneys, advisors and staff, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities of this position include:

Support law student recruiting programs. Assist recruiting teams during both 1L and 2L recruiting seasons. Organize logistics for interview programs, develop interviewer guides, assists with generating reports and analyzing metrics.

Coordinate law student engagement activities and initiatives. Help to organize and attend recruiting events.

Plan and organize firmwide summer associate programming. Ensure consistent processes are being used across US offices.

Coordinate firmwide fall associate orientation and onboarding process.

Process and track all reimbursement expenses for lateral candidates.

Manage the background check processes for all law student and lateral hires.

Organize promotional items and recruiting materials for recruiting events and summer program.

Maintain the applicant tracking system in a timely manner and ensure accurate record keeping and document management.

Oversee shared team portal and keep documents and resources updated throughout the year.

Collaborate with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team on 1L and 2L Diversity Scholarship program hiring. Coordinate with firm clients for summer scholar secondments. Promote the scholarship programs to law schools and student organizations through outreach efforts and marketing initiatives.

Complete firm surveys, including but not limited to, Vault, American Lawyer, Chambers, and NALP.

Contribute to monthly review of the departmental budget, as well as the preparation of analysis for year-end budget process.

Train and help supervise the work of the Attorney Recruiting Assistant and Attorney Recruiting Intern.

Assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum of two years of experience in legal recruiting in a law firm

Excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

Proficiency in ViDesktop, Flo Recruit, and/or Workday is a plus

Strong service orientation and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and attorneys

Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure

Ability to manage multiple projects with specific deadlines and adjust to changing priorities in a professional manner

Strong organizational and project management skills

Ability to use initiative and judgment to accomplish results

Ability to work independently and with a team

Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions

Strong attention to detail
