Job Family :Operational Effectiveness ConsultingTravel Required :Up to 25%Clearance Required :Active SecretWhat You Will Do :The Junior Program Consultant will lead, build, and develop foreign assistance programs intended to build capacity of partner nation security sector institutions globally and tackle emerging security challenges.This individual will work closely with an array of government counterparts in the United States and abroad to design and execute new program activities and to align with U.S. government interagency processes and legislative authorities.This position helps to advise government officials on security topics and helps conduct project management and data support for the division to track information for new and existing projects.You will manage multiple, parallel tasks, operate effectively in a matrix organization, have a strong work ethic, and the ability to take initiative and represent government officials’ interests in a responsible manner.Duties will include:
Assist with the project tracking and management of multiple, large-scale international projects; monitor implementation and collect/track program data
Identifying opportunities to tackle emerging security challenges and developing new projects that align to policy priorities
Drafting program strategy, objectives, scopes of work, and required tasks for implementing partners
Liaising with respective State regional and functional bureaus, geographic combatant commands, and U.S. embassies
Developing briefings and reports, and contributing to bureau wide taskers and congressional notifications
Briefing high-level officials within U.S. interagency on programmatic activities
Cooperating with partners in the U.S. government and attending interagency and international meetings to ensure engagements are well coordinated with other U.S. programs
What You Will Need :
An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET Federal security clearance
Bachelor’s degree
TWO (2) or more years of program management experience
The willingness and ability to travel internationally to conduct visits with U.S. and foreign government counterparts
What Would Be Nice To Have :
An ACTIVE and CURRENT TOP SECRET federal security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in international relations, international security studies, political science, or equivalent
Understanding of U.S. security assistance processes and procedures
Experience working in a policy environment at State or DoD and/or interagency stakeholders to exchange information and prioritize program activities
Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication to prepare and present analyses, draft talking points, and develop other program reports and documents for senior State and DoD officials
Candidates will possess effective diplomatic, time management, and oral and written communication skills and bring order and structure to general or ambiguous tasks or opportunities.
The annual salary range for this position is $71,800.00-$107,600.00.
