Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Legal Assistant in Washington D.C. (off Friendship Heights metro). After training period, the role will offer 1-2 days work from home. Our client, a well-established real estate law firm with a recognized presence both locally and nationally is seeking a Legal Assistant to join its team. The Legal Assistant will support 3-4 attorneys who specialize in various aspects of commercial real estate, ranging from landlord-tenant litigation to serving as in-house counsel for national real estate developers and retailers.The Legal Assistant will assist with document management; drafting, proofing, and editing legal documents and correspondence; calendaring deadlines; maintaining electronic and hardcopy files.Responsibilities Assist in document management for various aspects of commercial real estate, including landlord-tenant litigation and in-house counsel for national real estate developers and retailers. Draft, proof, and edit legal documents and correspondence as per the requirements of the attorneys. Maintain an organized calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met and appointments are scheduled correctly. Maintain accurate electronic and hardcopy files, ensuring all documents are stored and retrieved efficiently. Oversee computer database input and retrieval, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date. Handle matter management and record keeping, ensuring all legal matters are tracked and recorded correctly. Create correspondence and memorandum as required. Schedule conference calls and meetings as required. Maintain strict confidentiality of all legal documents and client information.
