We have an exciting opportunity for you to lead our Adult Unit at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. Role Overview:As the inpatient BHU Medical Director, you will be crucial in providing leadership and ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients. Your responsibilities will include:

Leading quality and performance initiatives to maintain the integrity of the BHU.

Representing adult psychiatry in hospital meetings and acting as the point person for psychiatric topics, both clinical and administrative.

Participating in program development and expansion efforts.

Additional Responsibilities:

Overseeing psychiatry providers to meet volume and quality expectations.

Participating in recruitment, orientation, and performance management of providers.

Being available for clinical escalation during emergencies.

Conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing patients, and prescribing medications.

Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.

Providing crisis intervention and completing clinical documentation.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and coordinating care with stakeholders.

Providing referrals and education to patients and families.

Offering outpatient psychiatric services virtually when necessary.

Requirements:

Maryland licensure or willingness to become licensed.

Board certification or eligibility.

Preferred willingness to become licensed in other geographies.

  • Summary This position is located in the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation\'s (PBGC), Office of the Director (OD). More than one selection may be made from this vacancy announcement. This is a temporary not to exceed 1 year position that may be extended in increments of up to one year, but not exceed three years; may become permanent without further competition. Responsibilities The candidate selected for this position will: Provide advice in developing and implementing critical studies, programs, projects, and other comparable initiatives impacting PBGC. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications All qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the announcement closing date. To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications and/or education for the grade at which you are requesting consideration. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the private sector serving in a confidential capacity to an organizational executive performing functions including human capital, budget, and long-range policy impacting projects and initiatives. Examples include: planning, budgeting, administering, and directing programs, projects and critical initiatives. Time-In-Grade Requirement: In order to be eligible for this position, all current Federal employees must provide proof of meeting the time-in-grade requirement (i.e., at least 52 weeks of experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service). This information must be in both your resume and on an SF-50. Those who do not provide proof of having met the time-in-grade requirement will be deemed ineligible for this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
