NewsNation is looking for a Washington, DC based photographer/editor to be based in our Washington, DC bureau. The ideal candidate is proficient in shooting and editing video and is equipped to ably partner with a correspondent and producer to craft stories which are engaging, compelling, and accurate. The person must have a strong work-ethic, be a self-starter, a clear communicator, and a team player.The news photographer will cover stories in and around Washington, DC and will also be dispatched to cover stories nationally or in some cases internationally as well.Duties & Responsibilities:-Shoot video for news reports-Edit reporter packages and elements for television broadcasts and digital use on Adobe Premiere-Familiarity with Bit Central & Latakoo helpful but not required- Shoot active and dynamic live shots in various settings-Maintain video equipment and other gear-Operate portable live unit and ENG trucks in remote situations-Short notice travel and schedule flexibility will be required, including weekends-Perform other duties as assigned-Travel will be required Requirements & Skills:-Minimum five years' experience of news gathering -Degree in communications preferred or related experience -Valid driver's license and clean driving record-Ability to lift and carry equipment in the range of 50 lbs. in weight -Basic knowledge of satellite live truck operation-Good communications skills with sound editorial judgement -Staffers for this news position must be available to work 24/7/365Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 commensurate with experience.Nexstar Media Group, Inc. Responsibilities The Photographer is responsible for planning, logistics, photographing and processing of visual images used by the Smithsonian Institution to enhance displays, graphics and exhibits.
