Description Robert Half Accounting and Finance is currently seeking Staff Accountants for immediate contract and contract-to-hire positions in Washington D.C. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department with various accounting tasks. This role offers a hybrid schedule and will last for a duration of 6 months to 1 year.Key Responsibilities:
Manage full cycle accounts payable, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and reconciling accounts.
Handle accounts receivable functions, such as invoicing, tracking payments, and resolving discrepancies.
Prepare financial reports and statements on a regular basis to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
Assist with audit preparation work by gathering necessary documents and supporting documentation.
Post journal entries accurately to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
Perform all accounting reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, vendor reconciliations, and customer reconciliations.
Maintain the general ledger by ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Previous experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of full cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
CPA certification or progress towards CPA is a plus.
