Description Robert Half is searching for an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision Requirements - Experience with ERP systems
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Ability to meet deadlines
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Great attention to detail
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Command of bi-Monthly Payroll
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
