This position is still at the proposal stage and is awaiting award.This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.  The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below: International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Radiation Therapist or Therapeutic Technologist to administer targeted radiation treatments to patients with cancer and other diseases, ensuring precise delivery and monitoring of therapy to achieve optimal outcomes. They work closely with oncologists and medical physicists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans by providing compassionate patient care.Key Responsibilities:Administer radiation therapy to patients according to the prescribed treatment plan ensuring precise and accurate delivery. Position patients’ correctly on the treatment table to target the radiation dose to the exact area, using immobilization devices when necessary. Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators, to ensure it functions correctly and safely. Monitor patients during treatment sessions, observing for any adverse reactions and making adjustments as needed. Maintain detailed records of treatment sessions, including doses administered, patient responses, and any issues encountered. Work closely with oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to develop an adjust treatment plans. Provide information and support to patients and their families about treatment progress, potential side effects, and aftercare. Perform regular quality assurance checks on radiation therapy equipment to ensure accuracy and safety. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary radiation exposure. Stay updated with the latest advancements in radiation therapy techniques and technologies through ongoing education and professional development. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
