Payroll Specialist

Description Job Description:We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s payroll processing objectives. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability in maintaining payroll-related activities for all employees. This includes managing payroll records, timesheets, deductions, year-end statements, and resolving payroll discrepancies through knowledge and application of laws and best practices.Responsibilities:

Collect, compile and process timesheets and other related data for the entire workforce.

Process payroll information such as employment data, hours worked, rates of pay, adjustments, deductions, etc.

Maintain payroll operations in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Prepare, verify, reconcile and issue payrolls, pay statements and related reports.

Interface with colleagues and external parties to ensure operational requirements are met.

Resolve payroll discrepancies through information analysis and working collaboratively with HR department and management.

Maintain complete confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with sensitive information.

Uphold knowledge of legislative changes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal regulations.

Assist in payroll accounting duties, including journal entries, accruals, and payroll analysis.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.

Proven experience as a payroll specialist or in a similar role.

Strong numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Proficiency with payroll software, as well as MS Office (especially Excel).

Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulatory standards.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

Certification from the American Payroll Association (APA) will be an advantage.
