Food & Beverage Supervisor Job Description

Summary:

The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for supervising all food and beverage operations, while delivering and encouraging the highest quality of service to customers, and maintaining the company’s highest standards of safety and cleanliness.

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise all food and beverage daily operations within guidelines and to the highest standards of safety and cleanliness

• Responsible for assisting in ensuring that the POS system is properly maintained, updated and accurate

• Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service

• Assistance in the maintenance of menus, purchase goods and continuously analyze and make improvements as needed

• Identify guest needs and respond proactively to all concerns

• Responsible for direct supervision of food and beverage staff

• Responsible for ensuring the cooks are following of recipes and / or product directions

• Responsible for ensuring that products are tasted and menus are followed

• Responsible for assisting Food & Beverage Manager in estimating food requirements, checking production and keeping records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment

• Responsible for ensuring cleanliness and sanitized work stations and equipment

• Practices and supervises excellent food safety and sanitation practices and complies with company, state and any federal health codes and standards

• Responsible for ensuring proper stocking, dating, rotation, and checking temperature of products

• Responsible for working with Event Management and staff to ensure that all event’s food and beverage requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner

Qualifications:

• Minimum age requirement of 18 years old

• Working knowledge and proven experience in food and beverage management experience

• Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of company, state and any federal health codes and standards

• Hold a Food Service Certificate and / or the ability to obtain the certificate within thirty (30) days of hire

• Culinary diploma or degree in food service management or related field is preferred, but not required

• Requires a minimum of 2 years of closely related cooking experience, work experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred

• Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

• Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions

• Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions

• Frequently works with sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates

• Frequently works in hot environment

General Job Functionalities:

• Able to learn and understand all policies and procedures pertinent to the department and the job

• Able to complete simple math calculations and perform other Park Office functions and reports

• Ability to recognize unsafe situations, cease operations and notify management of the concern

• Able to deal with guests and employees in a friendly manner

• Able to work effectively independently as well as with a group

• Able to learn, comprehend, and enforce policies and procedures

• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Able to handle stressful situations in a calm, professional manner

• Able to accept, handle, and make change with currency when applicable

• Able to learn and operate cash handling equipment

• Able to respond quickly to unusual situations during normal operation, including power failure and fire alarms

• Clean work area daily or more often, as needed

• Maintain sensitivity to all the policies adopted and established by the Company

• Maintain confidentiality regarding financial information

• Must be able to work nights, weekends & holidays
