Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Baker Assistant/Food Prep/Line Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and a commitment to delivering high-quality baked goods to our valued customers. As a Baker, you will play a pivotal role in our bakery's operations, contributing to the creation of delectable treats and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and production of a wide variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and desserts.

Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food production.

Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the kitchen(wiping, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes/trays/tools/utensils).

Manage ingredient inventories, monitor expiry dates, and assist in placing orders as needed.

Create visually appealing displays of baked goods, showcasing your keen eye for detail and aesthetic presentation.

Adhere to food and health industry regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers.

Multitask effectively to fulfill baking and food preparation tasks while following instructions and recipes accurately.

Provide exceptional customer service by serving customers in a friendly and courteous manner.

Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and safety.

Lift and move heavy items, weighing 50 pounds or more, as required in the baking process.

Stand for extended periods during baking and food preparation activities.

Utilize basic math skills for measuring and portioning ingredients accurately.

Qualifications:

Vocational training or coursework in baking is advantageous.

Possession of a state-approved food handling permit.

Previous experience in a bakery or culinary environment, particularly in customer service, is preferred.

Proficiency in preparing and finishing baked goods, demonstrating a high level of culinary skill.

Knowledge of food and health industry regulations and best practices.

Strong multitasking ability and aptitude for following precise instructions.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in baking.

Basic math skills for ingredient measurement and portioning.
