POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the warehouse operations of our distribution facility. This position involves the coordination of loading, unloading, documenting, and ensuring the safe operations of all warehouse activities at our warehouse facility.

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the following:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall responsibility for the day-to-day dock operations and safety of our warehouse dock with oversight of all loading and unloading of the food received and distributed from the warehouse.
Works closely with all staff, and volunteers to fulfill the organization's mission.
Responsible for inbound and outbound paperwork.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that all operations comply with health, safety and required regulations.
Maintains cooler logs in accordance with current regulations.
Ensure overall facility safety and training are in place for all staff and volunteers.
Supervise, lead, and maximize a team of volunteers.
Comply with all established safety policies and procedures; promote and maintain safety awareness and identify and resolve potential safety issues.
Ensure all dock staff and volunteers are instructed in safety and trained for the tasks assigned.
Manage and oversee the daily activities related to loading and unloading of trucks – scheduling, record keeping, reporting, and tracking all warehouse activities. Example: Cooler logs, BOL’S, weight sheets (inbound and outbound)
Interface with our drivers as necessary to ensure that they are aware of our policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively with volunteers, drivers, and Nonprofit Partners’ drivers.
Ensure ongoing maintenance and timely repair of all warehouse's related equipment is completed including but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks and vehicles.
Vehicle maintenance to include but not limited to daily inspection of all vehicles, initial walkaround and damage noted for each vehicle, verify insurance and registration is current and in each vehicle glove box. Daily update binders for each vehicle for drivers to inspect and record any damage, lights on dashboard or other concerns with vehicles. Checklist includes driver name and store pick up locations for their route. Fuel level to be at ¾ tank at the end of every business day. Weekly checklist includes checking tire pressure, tread conditions, balance of tires and overall condition of vehicles.
Drive our vehicles when necessary.
Interface with suppliers and partners as necessary to ensure that they are aware of our policies and procedures. Be aware of any specific needs or wants of our partners; maintain delivery and pick up schedules for all partners.
Work with the Executive Director, and staff to establish and promote quality process improvements.
Ensure all food handling materials and other warehouse supplies are adequately supplied.
Ensure cleanliness of dock and warehouse facility, maintain clean and safe dock space. Maintains proper temperature of coolers. Maintains proper food handling in both receiving and distributing food.
Understands sensitive placement of products as not to interfere with the flow of business of our neighbors.
Review the execution of overall food handling and warehouse practices focused on quality and continuous improvement.
Complete forklift job training and use forklift as necessary within the warehouse and dock area.
Own additional projects and tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
