This Staff Accountant role's duties will require preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Requirements
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
High attention to detail
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
