Engineering Aide Location: Orlando, FL Job ID: #69879 Pay Range: $25-31 Test Engineering department designs and fabricates equipment that be used in the development and manufacture of tactical hardware. We are seeking early career individuals who will be fabricating electro-mechanical assemblies (and sub-assemblies) to Engineering drawings. This sheet metal fabrication technician must be able to read blueprints and create custom metal chassis and must be able to determine the metal stretch with respect to the metal type and bend radius required. This position will provide the opportunity for the candidate to work as individual contributor, in a team environment. This would include collaborating with Engineers, and other members of the Fabrication team including other Fabricators, Draftsmen, Procurement, and Quality Inspectors. Daily activity would include not only a fast-paced fabrication environment, but it would also include using several computer based programs that will update job status, Quality Inspections, and Engineering changes. Although sheet metal work will be their primary responsibility, selected individual may have the opportunity to work CNC Machines and Lathes. Basic Requirements:
3 year of experience in sheet metal fabrication environments.
Must be able to read blueprints and create custom metal chassis.
Must be able to determine the metal stretch with respect to the metal type and bend radius required.
Ability to fabricate test equipment designs from a blueprint of the layout, schematic, bill of material, and engineering practices manual as guidelines.
Ability to communicate issues with the design and or the process requirements to management and or design engineers.
Position is a minimum of 40 hours per week commitment with occasional overtime.
